EL CAJON — A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car a week ago on Interstate 8 in El Cajon was a 48-year-old homeless man, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. Reginald Burke was walking east on west Interstate 8, just east of Main Street, last Sunday around 8:20 p.m. when he walked into the path of the vehicle as the driver changed lanes, according to the Medical Examiner's Office and the California Highway Patrol. Burke was hit and died before he could be taken to a hospital.
